Our Core Values
Thank you for choosing to visit our website to find out a little more about our school. We are a happy and friendly village school situated at the heart of the local community. Our school is a nurturing and supportive place with high standards expected of the children within a caring, Christian ethos.

Our School is a member of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust. LAAT is a Multi Academy Trust which was set up by the Diocese of Lincoln in 2013 to build a mutually supportive family of academies in Greater Lincolnshire who support each other in providing the very best outcomes for their pupils.

At Morton CE Primary School, we believe that our school is the place where our children will grow and flourish with nurture and encouragement. We have the passion to enable every child to achieve anything in their life journey. As part of the Christian family, we follow Jesus’ examples and teachings; as we respect, believe, enjoy and achieve as a collective school family.

“Pupils at this school thrive.” The school has high aspirations for all pupils to do their very best. Staff understand what pupils need to succeed, both academically and pastorally.
“Staff create a climate for learning that enables all pupils to feel safe and take risks.” One pupil, who shares the views of many, explained, “Teachers get our activities just right. We get to think hard, but not too hard.”
The Christian vision ensures that the mental health and wellbeing of pupils is a priority. …. Leaders help families to work with external agencies, making sure pupils benefit from a curriculum that is ambitious for them. The impact is relationships are restored by living out the Christian values of forgiveness and love.
“Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, and activities stimulate pupils’ curiosity. As a result, pupils achieve exceptionally well.”
Children in the early years have an exceptional start to their school life. Routines and expectations are quickly established.
The curriculum encourages pupils to flourish in their learning and to use knowledge wisely. This reflects the school’s vision of achieving anything in life’s journey.
Science Fair Day at Morton CE Primary! What an amazing day of discovery and curiosity! All of our Key Stage 2 children worked incredibly hard to prepare interactive science experiments, which they shared with one another to explore a wide range of scientific ideas. From magnetism and electricity to chromatography, the properties of liquids and solids, as well as sound and light, there was so much fantastic learning taking place. In the afternoon, the children confidently demonstrated their experiments to the whole school, including Key Stage 1 and Early Years. It was wonderful to see them explain their ideas, answer questions, and inspire younger pupils with their enthusiasm for science. It truly was an amazing day, and our pupils were brilliant ambassadors for science. We are so proud of their teamwork, creativity, and confidence. Proud to be part of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust #AboveAndBeyond #sciencefair

Dear Families and Members of our School Community, We are writing to inform you that the field car park will be closed from 9:30am on Tuesday 28 April until 7:00am on Thursday 30 April. This closure is necessary to allow essential works to take place, including a top dressing of the car park surface. We recognise that this closure may cause some inconvenience to families and to our neighbours, and we thank you in advance for your understanding. During this period, we strongly encourage families to walk to school where possible. If you do need to park, please do so considerately, ensuring that you do not block driveways, park over junctions, or inconvenience local residents. Please also be aware that heavy machinery will be operating on and around the site, so we ask everyone to take extra care when moving around the school area. As you may be aware, the current surface has degraded more quickly than anticipated following the extensive works carried out in 2024. Our Academy Trust has supported both the 2024 project and this new set of works, despite ongoing complications surrounding the ownership of the area. Although the land is owned by Lincolnshire County Council and remains a public right of way, we recognise that it is an area heavily used by the school community, making these improvements both necessary and important. We kindly ask for your support and patience while this work is carried out, as it will help to improve the site for everyone in the longer term. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

Hot off the Press! Education Secretary praises Morton Church of England Primary School Morton Primary School part of LAAT - a Lincolnshire-based multi-academy trust - have been commended by the Rt. Hon Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, for delivering strong attainment outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. In a letter to the schools, the Education Secretary recognised their significant achievements and encouraged them to share the effective practice underpinning their success. She wrote: "Your school's achievements demonstrate what is possible, and I hope you will continue to share your experience and best practice with others. Even the strongest schools can go further. We encourage you to lead the way as a system leader – sharing effective practice, championing networks, supporting collaboration, and helping raise standards across the sector." The recognition highlights the sustained commitment of both schools to inclusion, high expectations and evidence-informed practice, ensuring that disadvantaged pupils are supported to achieve their full potential. Head of school, Kelly Thomas, commented, "Our latest data show that our three-year averages for children achieving the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths, both combined and in individual subjects, are significantly above the national average, and in some cases, within the top 10% of all schools nationally, so we are incredibly proud of this recognition. Our team works relentlessly to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to high-quality teaching, targeted support, and a rich curriculum, so that they can truly thrive. Raising attainment for disadvantaged pupils is not a standalone strategy; it is woven through everything we do and reflects our belief in the transformative power of education. This acknowledgement celebrates the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and governors, and the ambition we hold for every pupil." Jackie Waters-Dewhurst, CEO at LAAT says, "This recognition is a testament to the strength of collaboration across our Trust. By sharing expertise, investing in professional development and maintaining a clear focus on inclusion and high standards, we create the conditions in which all pupils can thrive. We are committed not only to sustaining excellence within our own schools, but also to working with others across the sector to share effective practice and help raise standards more widely." #laat #DepartmentOfEducation To find out more about our exceptional school visit our website at www.morton.lincs.sch.uk
